The Green Scam

The Green Scam

Author: Stephen Hannard

We are residents on a living planet, a planet that breathes, a planet that gets hot and cold, a planet that moves, a planet that reacts to the heat of the Sun and the gravitational pull of the Moon. It responds to forces from within and from without, it can be serence and peaceful one moment, stormy and violent the next.

There is no doubt the Earth is a living entity with human like qualities, and like every living thing it is everchanging, as it progresses through time and space.

That change is evident in the discovery of vegetation under the ice caps, which indicates a time when those parts of the Earth were tropical and warm. It is believed an ice age devoloped that consumed those temperate areas, and transformed them into the inhospitable Artic ice caps that we are familiar with today. Other parts of the Earth have experienced similar changes though not as profound, nevertheless change is an ongoing fact of Earths history. Our wonderment at the Earths ability to cope with that change continues, some of those changes have been radical in nature, like the ice age, while others have been more subtle. But whatever and however those changes have occured, the Earth is still here. Just as the human body heals itself, this Planet has recovered from seemingly catastrophic events long before Man came to be on its soil. Natural phenomena like a volcanic eruption, forest fires started by lightning which have raged for months, covering tens of thousands of square miles. Earthquakes that have moved continents. These natural disasters make Mans contribution puny in comparison.

If We choose to destroy the very enviroment that sustains us, then we cease to exist in time. The Earth however would continue to heal itself, just as the growth of vegetation heals the scars of the forest fires. The Planet will always recover from Mans scorched Earth policy of greed, and cover over all evidence of mans time here on Earth. In comparison to Earths existence in the universe, our residence here is brief, yet many are concerned about our impact on the planet. The major concern is Global warming, mostly through the burning of fossil fuels, there is of course other pollutants no doubt, causing many more enviromental problems.

Krakatoa, a small volcanic island of Indonesia, erupted in 1883. Some of the residue of that eruption is still circulating the Earth to this day. Where does one know where Mans proportion of blame begins, and the part natural Earthly activity is responsible? Most people tend to put credence in the opinion of scientists and others of a university background, as to the conclusions about the enviroment. Governments look to these kind of individuals for guidance in their policy making, and at this present time, panic seems to be the order of the day. Nobody takes into consideration, that it was these kind of individuals, these aptly-named prophets of doom, who created the situation in the first place. These professors of science, that have shaped our modern world gave us the atom bomb. Who invented the combustion engine, who has created the toxic chemicals that coat our food and pollute the air we breathe. Those who by their past actions have identified themselves as unworthy of any credibility, who would go to a leper for a cure for spots. This bunch of intelligencia have certainly tarnished their image.

There is no doubt pollution is a problem, where we are totally responsible for it is another matter. A relevant question to ask is this- Is global warming part of the natural cycle of this planet, would this happen anyway whether we where here or not? Could their be a degree of hysteria involved here, whipped up by the media at the behest of government. Is there political and commercial interests behind this propaganda bandwagon?

A few years ago when there were some especially cold winters in various parts of the Earth, cries of a new ice age were widely propagated. Now that we are having a few warmer summers, they shout we are heading towards global warming, next they will be telling us that Saddam did have weapons of mass destruction.

Its a well known fact that approximately every eleven years, the Sun exerts extra powerful solar flares, these affect the Earth in many ways. Then there are other forms of radiation and rays of a varied nature, Gamma, Infra-Red etc. These bombard our planet on a constant basis and must have an effect. If we take into consideration what we know, which is very little, to what we dont know, it will put into perspective the role of man, in Earths existence. World leaders have met on numerous occastions to try and work out some united stratedgy as regards Global warming, but with little success. Most countries are more concerned with their own domestic problems. The enviroment is far down the list of priorities of most countries, some make hollow promises, while others give token approval to some sort of action, but whether they carry it out is another thing.

The Primeminister of Great Britain Gordon Brown, has decided to impose more green taxes on one of the most heavily taxed people on Earth. The People who live on this tiny island, live on less than one half of one per-cent of the Earths surface. Herds of wilderbeeste traversing the plains of the serengeti pass more methane, and carbon dioxide than Britain cause pollution. It is like someone sitting in a cinema as a non smoker, when everyone about you is smoking, to believe you are solving the problem of air pollution is to live in extreme delusion. This is no benoevolent act on Mr Browns part, but a typical act of opportunism. A lame excuse to extract even more money from an already overtaxed population. Likewise big buisness is in on the act too, increasing prices in the name of the enviroment, when the fact is, that they are the major players in the pollution scandal. Those who take the time to investigate matters know that there are many non-pollutant sources of energy, eco friendly. These alternatives are conveniently ignored or hidden away due to the big profit in oil, gas and fossil fuels.

This is just a few of the problems facing mankind, im sure to most of us the major concern is our familys wellbeing, being employed, having enough money to cope with the responsibilities of life. Our history is well documented, we seem to have the desire to self destruct, maybe that is why we have problems like pollution. Putting things into perspective though, our very existence is bleak if one considers our previous behaviour, it is not a case of what we are doing to the planet, but what we are doing to each other. All evidence points to our own habitation of this planet coming to an end, long before we do any lasting damage to the Earth itself.

The corruption of Governments, and the corruption of some of our world leaders, has added to all our problems. We are all being guided by these traitors of humanity, to the precipice of destruction, like lemmings, blinded by the lies, and destructive actions of the few. We are all guilty of feeding this monster, for we have abdicated our power and free will, and handed it over freely to liars, murderers, and thieves – In a word-”Government”.
